Hi There! This is Pradeep. I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, at the Department of Radiology, and affiliated with Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Intelligent Systems program. My research interests are in medical image processing, machine learning, informatics and open science. I am interested in development of multi-modal biomarkers for various neurological and psychiatric disorders, and in characterizing the impact of fundamental methodological choices.
I am passionate about bridging the gap between the clinic and computer science, and in developing necessary methods, tools and standards to remove the barriers faced by neuroscientists in predictive modelling and quality control. I founded the special interest group on neuroimaging quality control at the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility. I am an advocate for open science, and am committed to the development of open source software and reproducible science. I strongly believe in the importance of scientific communication and public engagement and their power to change policy.
Take a look at my papers (Google scholar; Semantic scholar), some of the informatics solutions I developed here, and join me on Twitter @raamana_ and let’s make the world a better place! 🙂
